Jamie @ Clay Pigeon Rd 1
Saturday saw the strong south westerly wind testing the awnings around the Dorset track, Jamie was eager to get on with the weekends work and 10am saw the beginning of his first race meeting.
Saturday test saw a steady progression through the times, the teams armoury were tested individually and with a solid time and setup based on the forecast!! We selected Rapier and Titan as the day’s power houses.
Sunday morning saw well er…….nothing really as the “track on the hill” disappeared into fog! With my prediction set at 1130 I promised Jamie we would be in the office before 12 and as always……we weren’t!
At 1400 the fog broke and the track opened (I have to say the club pulled a blinder to get the meeting done – well done guys simply brilliant) Jamie of course being a novice was sat at the back of a long mixed Iame/Honda grid 25 strong but was calm and measured in his approach. Practice: 11th fastest Heat 1: 14th Heat 2: 12th Heat 3: 17th
The team have done a lot of testing this winter season in the conditions for the final and Jamie was “dialled” straight in off the line, smooth and alert he avoided the debris and drove a solid 13th place overtaking on the way, he met his weekends objectives and more. Jamie collects the “Driver of the Week” award for simply have a great day in the office, a pleasure to watch and done much like his teammate Harry with a great smile from morning to close.
