Kris & Harry @ CKC
With Harry now in the top 4 and sporting his new race suit and Kris having his first race at CKC, this was going to be an interesting day for all.
Kris’s kart managed to get plenty of attention from a lot of the younger drivers who recognised the “Cannings” livery and Harry took him out for a wander round the Surrey circuit before the team walk, with the sun already beating down this was going to be a nice day out.
The practice was a quick affair and a change to Harrys kart baseline looked good in this tme, Kris discovered that we had to use the bus stop as well and spent a couple of minutes discussing this “oversight” with the CoC.
The heats were a standard affair but the changes to Harrys kart proved ineffective and by H2 we had him on his standard setup dry, H3 saw him assisted from turn 1 after a great start, in fact one of his best to date but after coming off found that he could not keep his head on the race so retired to relax and unwind!
Kris spent the day at the rear of the field but by the end of the final had almost arrived in the 32’s so did really well and is looking forward to his next visit.
Harrys final ended in 5th after again being 'assisted' off the track by a driver who thinks karting is a contact sport and whilst not our best day Harry did some of his best overtaking to date and proved that this year will see some his best results, the lads also met new team member Jack Clements who popped in to provide some moral support and get his head into the atmosphere.
Better days for racing yes, one of the best days for team spirit, well done guys really well done.
