Ethan @ CKC - 1 day only!
A last minute opportunity to test a P1 chassis for a new novice gave Ethan the chance to dust off his suit and helmet and hit the track again at CKC.
Supporting #77 James, Ethan's main task was driver training, helping Des on the track walk before running in the non-licenced sessions to help James with lines and track skills.
It was an interesting day - not chasing any times as Ethan was running a T1, it was all about checking the chassis was straight and true and making any setup changes needed before the new owner took it out. With just the 1x sprocket to play with, it was a case of filling it up with fuel and letting him go!
Ethan was soon moved up to the experienced cadets due to his speed and got to play with the current batch of leading Honda's, IAME's and Comers. Ethan was being very cautious as he didn't want to damage the kart but was still mixing it with the pack and moving through with relative ease.
#67 James Hedley is one of the front running Honda's in the Championship and was obviously quickest out on track. All of the Honda pack were running race ready T2's so it was quite amusing to watch Ethan and his trusty T1 weaving through - the last session saw him start halfway down the pack, move through and disappear into the distance, leaving the rest to try and chase after him.
It was a great day overall, very relaxed, Ethan showed he still has his racing skills and was very relaxed, even if he didn't quite fit! A best lap of the day of 31.49 was pretty impressive considering his setup and that of the chasing pack.
Ethan is now looking to offer his services as a chassis test driver for hire :)
