Swimming @ CKC with Sam, James, Jack, Will & Ben

With Jack and James coming along so well now we were hopeful of a dry test day………we remain hopeful of this as we get closer to the spring of course!

With the team booked for the two Honda’s it was nice to also have Ben Huntley along testing his new DK Rotax Power and also Henry and Sam from the Shenington side of the team, with Sam looking to race at CKC this summer he has been working hard to progress at the Surrey track and knowing Henry was in the area had no plans to let his Oxfordshire teammate dominate the sessions.

The weather forecast had made the paddock a lot quieter than normal of course so the sessions were quick to come round, and once the track walk had been completed we handed out the radios to the lads and settled down for the brief and Steve to lift the barrier.

Jack Clements very quickly made it clear he was there to stay at the front of the group and that’s where he stayed all day, despite his pace fading toward the latter part of the day his tyres reflected the effort put in and his consistency was startling considering the shadowy images of tread left on his Dunlops! Jack is working on positioning for a couple of corners but he has shown he can nail them so just needs a little more consistency but is making his presence felt now and very much controlled the greater part of the day.

James is simply going from strength to strength now, his infectious character very much similar to Luke Preston means that there is never a dull moment and Jack and James certainly keep us on our toes when in each other’s company, in fact they have taken over from the Perry/Preston pairing who entertained so many at various circuits in 2014.

James has been working hard on the “bus stop” and the downhill approach to the complex built in late 2014, like Jack they are using the one-way radio system and he has proved in the last three sessions at Rye and CKC that he is ready for ARKS soon, will be great to see him racing.

Ben, Henry and Sam all did a great job on the circuit which was brand new to Ben and Henry, of course everyone had a great time and with Jack having a trailer with ready-made seats inside made the social side a little more bearable when at 1345 the ocean fell out of the sky!

A lot of work put in this weekend and a top effort all round, great job in difficult conditions lads.
