The mixed weather at ‘Shenny’ on the Saturday practice certainly livened things up, with pictures of snow being passed around the team’s media group the guys at Forest could only soak up the sun and smile!
All the lads drove well on the Saturday, in particular an invigorated Sam fresh from 1-2-1 was enjoying some great pace and Jaydan was also starting to get into the ‘groove’ as well. With all the lads looking forward to a warmer race day and in particular a dry one they tucked the karts away having been all day on top of the game, The two Will’s were looking really good as well, Will A picking up on the front group as well.
Race day saw ne PB’s for Sam and Jaydan, Will F missed out by 7 1/100ths on his but Will A drove like a star all day, sadly his racing was brought to a halt by some pretty hideous driving from others…..well one in particular who seemed to make a point of connecting with Will, the teams friendly Aussie went into the Final placed 21st and drove his best final ever, he has finished higher but to get 13th in such a strong grid reflected his determination and focus, we think he could have got another few places as well but lucked out on overtaking. Will F and Sam came in 16th and 19th with Sam having been helped out of turn 1, he drove a great recovery and the final was a great culmination of the recent weeks work, Will F was strong and consistent, his race was mainly in traffic so did not get a real chance to get away, Jaydan finished 23rd having gained one place but his days racing was probably some of the best we have seen to date and he is moving along nicely, with Jaydan now on yellow plates for the next round he should naturally become a lot quicker….hopefully without to much assistance of course!
CKC saw Jack and Sam in the Honda roll out for the April round, both lads now making great progress the heats saw Jack getting 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and Sam grabbing 6th, 3rd, 4th
The final was a busy affair with Josh pulling away into a strong lead after a restart, Neo and Jack had a great battle but Jack’s inexperience under pressure saw him brake a little late into the bus stop and Neo got through, the spin saw Sam and Ethan get passed but Jack gave the chase of his life getting a new PB on the way, Jack managed to recover to 4th. Sadly, Sam finished in 3rd but was excluded on a technicality, having to change engines at the last moment to a known test motor I overlooked the setup and Sam lost out, very regretful situation for all involved…we move on with a huge lesson learned!
Keep it flat and look out for the guys at Forest Edge this coming weekend.
