During the last 9 months the team has been developing its Viper Bambino’s. Freddie, Jonathon, Henry and Noah have all been working hard in the background and with CKC open for practice most weekends during the winter the lads have had a great chance to prepare for the season ahead.

This weekend was the chance for Jonathon and Noah to step up and with CKC enjoying a dry day it was the perfect chance to get those lap times down to where we needed.

‘JP’ has in recent weeks shown that his constant practice is paying off and with his ‘Tommy Motorsport’ power now showing has been looking at the top step knowing it was simply a matter of time, Noah is the ‘young gun’ of the Vipers and judging by his demolition of the Honda novices at Forest recently is going to keep everyone on their toes, grabbing PB’s every test now he is ready to push forward as hard as JP.

For some time now we have been watching our fellow competitor Sheri rattle round at an astonishing pace, it has to be said that track time is everything and Sheri’s pace reflects the efforts and constant practice, being so consistent as well makes the young lass very difficult to beat and this week was no different, leading for the first three sessions she looked a certainty for the 1st place, with Mikey still learning like Noah the four set off in the final with near perfect conditions.

Sheri led the session in fastest times at around mid to early 39’s with JP second, Noah 3rd and Mikey a very close 4th, the last two laps saw JP put together a massive lap at 38.580 (pretty sure in a Bambino that means he didn’t ‘lift’ at all!!) and with that taking the lap record and round win, JP heads into the next round leading the Championship but will have to work hard to stay ahead, It’s that close that the lead will change constantly as we go on.

Noah grabbed himself a well-deserved 3rd place but needs to sort a really unusual line out at turn 1, that said he has a win ahead no doubt and all these four young drivers continue to entertain the rest of the paddock with their efforts, only at CKC could the Bambinos have such a great spectator following from the paddock fence, a testament to the great atmospherics of the Surrey circuit and the Camberley Kart Club organisation.

The Bambinos will begin to stretch out now as we move through 2016 and you can see the Vipers at Bayford, Shenington and other circuits as they prepare for the 2017 Championship series, this week they will be at CKC where Freddie and Noah plan to nail the 39’s.

Keep it flat
