Ben, Hazza, Sam & James & CKC
Associated drivers also racing at CKC– Jamie Burt and Freddie LaRosa
A promising warm summer morning saw the welcome return of Harry ‘Hazza’ Arthur, having been out of racing since Nov 2015 his arrival was always going to be interesting, in testing Harry had proved more than able to match the front so we were hopeful of a couple of trophy’s. Ben as always was keen and with recent developments had a chance to be at the front again so we looked forward to a great day.
Sam following his recent set of podiums was there to make sure he remains in contention and was relaxed and ready for the office day, Sam’s potential is showing and is now accustomed to being at the sharp end.
James on his 2nd race meeting was looking forward to keeping in touch this time and setting himself a new pb while Freddie on his first Bambino meeting was simply there to enjoy it and get over the first day nerves, he is more than able to match the rest in time but for now needs to get first couple of rounds out of the way.
The heats saw a mix for all the lads but with Ben and Sam getting their first ever heat wins was a cause for celebration, Harry got himself a 3rd in H2, James was making good progress and improving on his pb, now only a second off the sharp end he will soon join Sam and Harry.
Ben was suffering through tyres but still managed a 1st 2nd and 3rd place in each of his heats and whilst working hard all day his 4th place (3rd on track but dropped nose after a visit to the grass) was not a true reflection of his current form, he is getting a lot quicker now and when it all comes together will prove his worth.
Freddie was having a great day and got himself to a point of success in terms of his times, in a couple of months the teams prediction will begin to show #future1
The Honda final was shaping up to be a good one with Sam starting 3rd and Hazza in 4th on the grid while Jamie led the novices. The race at the front was disappointing for the team as both Sam and Hazza were fired out (incidentally both were fired out of 2nd place by 2x different drivers) in what should have been a fantastic race, it was just one of those days of course so we move on and return in August knowing that we can take the race to the other lads, we will be looking forward to getting back in the mix.
Jamie had a great result to pickup the Honda Novice trophy - good job Jamie!
The team now settles into the summer holidays and some pretty intensive training, with the new arrivals due to settle in for the Autumn we have the ingredients to achieve our goals.
The team puts a shout out to Jordy in Mid Ohio this weekend as he competes in the USF2000 series – good luck pal.
