Sam, Jaydan & Will @ Shenny

It’s great to tap away great reports about how marvellous the weekend went as a whole…of course we are dealing with young lads who on this weekend had some of the country’s leading Honda drivers, young lads who were this time last starting out in karting, throw in a few disasters and yes you have the ingredients for one of ‘those’ weekends!

On the whole we have been doing well, progress is steady, not as much as we would like but we are generally going the right way, we had a strong headwind to deal with on the test which wasn’t too bad on the whole despite the odds and even split grids, the lads took a while to get into the groove and with Sam having rebuilt his kart and Will running in his motor it came down to Jaydan to make up some ground, Jaydan’s best session and new PB came in the last session of the day, Sam and Will were still struggling to get into the 52’s….to be fair it wasn’t for lack of trying but we had been adjusting for the headwind and that turned out to be a major hiccup.

Race day saw middle order running with the boys but Jaydan looking very unsettled, as we worked on the karts for the final we noticed that Jaydan’s chassis had snapped at the rear – early bath for #34!

Sam and Will lined up for the B final with Sam on pole, despite the best lap time of the weekend for Sam we didn’t make it through and we all wrapped up together by dismantling Jaydan’s kart.

Yup we have had a lot better but it’s how it goes sometimes, we did gain some ground however through discussion and the next visit will see the lads back where they deserve to be, oddly we are now testing in earnest having licked our wounds and the team have researched the areas of interest, of course having now put this in print I have to make sure we do go quicker!

Without this support the team could not continue to operate on a low cost basis, the development of youngsters in karting at this early stage is vital to the continuity of our sport, Veneno will always be about the driver and is thankful for the generous support of its sponsors.
