Ben @ Forest Edge Final Round
Ben was turning out for the last time in his Junior Max at the Hampshire circuit, his season has been mixed but on the whole unfortunate having to contend with a busy grid that sees many ‘racing’ moments, Ben is a hard driver and whilst able to mix it at the front is not the only one with the competitive pace, with such close racing generally it’s a matter of luck in the heats how high up you qualify and whilst we have had many great sessions we missed our planned target place for 2016 of 12th or higher, we got 13th however and had some fantastic times on the way, he has enjoyed the racing and of course as he leaves karting to race in the BMW Championships will retain some great memories and many friends to support his journey.
The weekend overall was a steady affair marred by a jetting issue which we resolved during H2 on the Sunday, it was the old thing of “it’s too obvious to be that” so we were hooked up on details when it turned out to be something far simpler……you’ve been there too!
Race day resulted in 18th place following a final that had most parents looking away as the grid rattled around nose to tail for the duration, we had a nose penalty and concluded in 18th, not the result we had hoped for but a weekend of good spirits and laughter as Dad Nigel and Ben set their sights on the future.
Ben will be continuing with the team in an associate role and his fantastic rapport with the younger lads means he will be there to work with them as they progress, if Ben takes his current attitude and passion with him into cars then 2018 (note that year lads!!) could well be a very good one, they have the right package but track time is key, we look forward to seeing him out there and will be providing reports as he continues.
Many thanks to Ben and Nigel for the support and help when our cadets have appeared in the awning at random venues looking for a little mechanical guidance. D and the Team

Without this support the team could not continue to operate on a low-cost basis, the development of youngsters in karting at this early stage is vital to the continuity of our sport, Veneno will always be about the driver and is thankful for the generous support of its sponsors.
